HOUSE and MUSEUM MIGUEL UNAMUNO FUERTEVENTURA. Casa Museo de Unamuno located in Puerto del Rosario, the capital of Fuerteventura, in the house where Don Miguel de Unamuno lived in exile imposed by General Primo de Rivera in February 1924, which is dedicated to disseminating the work that Don Miguel de Unamuno produced in Fuerteventura, whose primary focus is the island.
In 1983, the house passed into the hands of the Island Council of Fuerteventura, in May 1995 was inaugurated and opened to the public as a museum. |
The house museum has been recreated the atmosphere of a house in the twenties with spaces and objects that were familiar to Unamuno, as well as photographs and texts out of his pen where it is clear to see his close relationship with Fuerteventura.
With a domestic architecture typical of the Canaries beginning of the century, consists of hallway access, voids room open to the central courtyard of the house which has a cistern to collect rainwater.
