It is located in the municipality of La Oliva and belongs to the complex Basal de Betancuria. With an area of 186.7 hectares and a maximum altitude of 401 metres, this Mountain is a protected monument.
At the top of the mountain are rock paintings made by Mahos, aborigines on the island of Fuerteventura. Geologists and Historians say that the mountain Tindaya was, for the Aboriginals of Fuerteventura, a sacred place. The prints made by Aboriginals suggest that this mountain had magical powers, even magnetic energy, without a doubt. Tindaya Mountain was a place of worship for them.
Visible from almost anywhere in the north of the island, Tindaya Mountain is one of the most characteristic points of Fuerteventura, for his historical and archaeological value.
