History of Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is one of the seven Canary islands. There are many different theories about the history of formation of the Canary Archipelago and so of Fuerteventura, all of them agreeing in a volcanic origin. The latest theories are based on the assumption that volcanic eruptions and the pression between the African and Atlantic plate, resulting in the elevation of the oceanic crust, were the reason of origin of the formation of the Canary Archipelago.
